Why are you closed?
On June 11, 2013, we suffered extensive damage caused by the Royal Gorge Fire. This wildfire destroyed 48 of the 52 structures on the Bridge & Park grounds, including our Aerial Tram and antique carousel, as well as the park’s visitor center. Fortunately, the Bridge itself escaped with only minor damage to some of its wooden planks.
When will the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park reopen?
We are excited about the future and are working hard to make the Bridge & Park a whole new experience for our visitors beginning in summer 2014.
Were other businesses in the region affected by the Royal Gorge Fire?
We are happy to say that the other attractions and tourism operators were not affected by the fire. We hope you come visit them, too! For more information regarding area attractions, please visit the Cañon City Chamber’s website at www.canoncity.com or call their office at 800-876-7922.
Were any of the animals harmed because of the fire?
Miraculously, none of our animals were harmed. In fact, we celebrated the birth of a baby bison in the days following the fire and the aptly named “Smokey” is doing well.
How do I get refunded if I bought my tickets online before the fire?
Please call our office at 888-333-5597 for more information regarding refunds.
